Apple Delays New iPad Releases Until Spring 2024: What to Expect

In a surprising turn of events, Apple enthusiasts may have to wait a bit longer for the arrival of new iPad models. Initially, there were expectations of new iPads launching later this year, but recent reports suggest otherwise. The delay appears to be related to Apple's focus on upgrading existing models, such as the iPad mini 7, iPad Air 6, and iPad 11, which will now be unveiled in the Spring of 2024.

Last week, speculations about an imminent launch of the iPad 11 emerged, leaving many excited. However, Apple's announcement of a new Apple Pencil version featuring a USB-C port without any iPad releases raised questions. Now, tech analyst Mark Gurman, known for his accurate insights, has confirmed in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple has no intentions of releasing a new iPad for the remainder of this year.

So, when can we expect the refreshed iPad lineup? Gurman's estimate points to a Spring 2024 release. In terms of models, Apple has been diligently working on the iPad 11, iPad mini 7, and iPad Air 6, ensuring they bring substantial performance enhancements to the table.

While the design of these iPads may remain relatively unchanged, Apple is gearing up for a significant performance boost. The iPad Air 6 is set to feature the M2 chip, aligning it with iPad Pro models, the iPad mini 7 might incorporate an A17 Pro or A16 Bionic chip, and the iPad 11 could come equipped with the A15 Bionic chip. Additionally, Apple may introduce upgraded camera hardware and novel display technology in the iPad mini 7 to tackle the jelly scrolling issue.

Beyond these upgrades, Apple has something special in store for its premium users. New iPad Pro models are on the horizon, anticipated to sport OLED displays, redesigned chassis with the powerful M3 chip, and potentially slimmer bezels. However, these iPad Pro models might experience a slight delay compared to the rest of the lineup.

In summary, Apple aficionados might need to exercise a bit more patience. While the iPad 11, iPad mini 7, and iPad Air 6 are expected to be unveiled in a Spring event, the iPad Pro, boasting the impressive M3 chip, could make its grand entrance at Apple's WWDC 2024 event, alongside new M3-powered Macs. Apple's commitment to delivering high-performance devices remains unwavering, promising an exciting year ahead for tech enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates!
