Apple\'s latest iOS17, IpadOS, macOS Sonoma, and watchOS make our products more user friendly and accessible.
(TWN) - This year at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC23), Apple presented its most anticipated OS softwares for its various gadgets, including a slew of new features and widgets.
iOS 17
Despite Apple's preference for quality-of-life enhancements over flashy new features, iOS 17 still has plenty of reasons to be thrilled.
When certain contacts call you, iOS 17 will add personal contact "posters" so you may customize your contact screen just like you can your lock screen. In addition to that, Apple is also introducing Live Voicemail to the Phone app.
Upgrades are also being made to Messages. To avoid having to keep scrolling, you can build search filters and obtain a catch-up arrow to move to the point in a particular discussion where you left off. Along with the new Check-In function, Messages is also getting a live location feature.
NameDrop, a new method of sharing contact information between iPhones, will be supported via AirDrop with iOS 17. Place your iPhone close to another one to use it, then decide which contacts to transfer. Even an Apple Watch can use it. If you leave the AirDrop range, AirDrop will now continue transferring over mobile internet.
The autocorrect feature on the keyboard is being upgraded with more intelligent corrections and automatic word learning for a more customized experience. These modifications will also improve dictation and increase its accuracy.
Apple made significant modifications to the lock screen last year, and iOS 17 is expanding even more on those changes. With iOS 17, your iPhone's lock screen will change into a Standby mode that resembles a smart home display. It will display the weather, upcoming appointments, notifications, and other significant information when it is not in use and is horizontally oriented.
iPadOS 17
With a few extras designed specifically for the large-screen operating system, Apple iPadOS 17 will receive many of the same updates and modifications as iOS 17.With iPadOS 17, widgets are getting better, and you won't have to switch to the widget's app to rapidly interact with any widget on your home screen. With iPadOS 17, you'll also be able to modify your lock screen so that it contrasts with or matches your iPhone's lock screen, with the added benefit of viewing it on a larger screen.
PDF compatibility is also improving, and iPads can now recognize text entry parts on PDFs, allowing you to quickly and easily fill in the inputs you need to finish before sending it off.The developer beta is out now, with the public beta following next month and the final version arriving in the fall.
MacOS Sonoma
This latest upgrade, dubbed macOS Sonoma, includes many of the new features coming to iOS and iPadOS. Sonoma comes with a number of spectacular new video screensavers that slowly cycle across beautiful locations from around the world.
Sonoma now allows you to add widgets directly on your desktop. You may put them wherever you want, and they will intelligently adapt to whatever you're doing on your Mac at any time. They will change color based on your wallpaper, and when you use an app, they will fade into the background to be less distracting. Sonoma will get a Game Mode, which optimizes your Mac to run games by lowering non-game activities and ensuring your Mac runs your games at peak performance. That wasn't the only thing going on in the gaming world.
Additional Safari enhancements include the ability to securely share passwords and the introduction of a new Profile system, which will allow you to split your browsing history and cookies between work and play or just between users on a single machine. If you frequently visit certain websites, the new WebApp feature can convert them into a pseudo-app experience, removing the page from Safari and giving it its own window.
WatchOS 10
The next version of watchOS will allow you to customize any of your watch faces by adding Smart Stacks with widgets that are accessible by simply sliding your Digital Crown. With a long press, you may add or remove widgets, and you can instantly access your favorite apps from the Smart Stack.
Apple has also been working on bicycle monitoring, and watchOS 10 will soon include Bluetooth bike sensors, allowing you to use your Apple Watch to track your cadence and power.
The Compass app is gaining some terrific new safety features, including a set of features that display where you last accessed a mobile connection as well as the nearest place from which you may send an SOS message. There's also an elevation view and the option to find neighboring facilities and hiking paths.
Finally, it appears to be a promising os that is significant in making our lives easier and more accessible.
